Caveat

This project's goals were to research and preserve the local rice varieties, increase the production of the local black sticky rice, learn more regarding the organic paddy field in the SWU, Sakaeo area, and build a learning center for local farmers and other people with an interest.

Impact

The significance of this effort is due to the preservation and propagation of traditional rice cultivars. The genetic diversity of the local rice is widely recognized as an important consideration in the advancement of rice breeding and the generation of novel rice varieties. Furthermore, this particular species exhibits a remarkable capacity to effectively adapts to the diverse environmental conditions and climatic variations prevalent in Thailand, hence facilitating the advancement of organic farming practices within the region and SDGs
