The Community Academic Service Project: Creative Theatre for Youth aims to enhance students’ knowledge and skills in producing creative theatre for children and young audiences, while also providing academic services that benefit society. Through workshops and performances, the project offers participants valuable insights and learning experiences, fostering creativity, critical thinking, and social skills among youth. Integrated with the course FPA214 Theatre for Young Audiences and linked to research on theatre management during the COVID-19 pandemic, the initiative bridges teaching, research, and community engagement. Aligned with SDG 4.7 (Quality Education), the project ensures that learners gain knowledge and competencies essential for sustainable development, including cultural awareness, empathy, and social responsibility. By using theatre as a tool for education and development, the project not only nurtures youth potential but also strengthens the university’s mission to instill social responsibility in students, faculty, and staff, thereby contributing to the holistic growth of individuals and society.

Community Impact:
The Creative Theatre for Youth academic service project has created meaningful opportunities for children at Rajvithi Home for Girls to gain knowledge, new perspectives, and valuable experiences through participatory and creativity-focused theatre activities. Youth participants developed key life skills such as communication, teamwork, and creative self-expression, while also building self-confidence and motivation. This initiative provided a safe and inspiring learning space that supports personal growth and nurtures the holistic development of young people.

University Impact:
The project directly reinforced Srinakharinwirot University’s role as a socially engaged institution, particularly through the Faculty of Fine Arts’ mission to provide academic services to society. Students were able to integrate classroom knowledge and research into practical, community-based work, enhancing both their academic expertise and essential life skills. At the same time, the project strengthened the university’s public image as an institution committed to social development and cultural engagement, demonstrating its relevance and responsibility to wider communities.

National Impact:
At the national level, the project contributes to advancing sustainable development, particularly SDG 4.7 (Quality Education), which emphasizes ensuring that all learners acquire the knowledge and skills necessary for sustainable living and citizenship. By using theatre as an educational and developmental tool, the project not only fosters creativity and social awareness in youth but also plays a role in preserving and promoting Thai cultural heritage. This dual contribution supports the development of human capital while cultivating Thailand’s soft power, enabling cultural values to be shared and recognized on a broader scale.
