Infections caused by arboviruses such as dengue virus, and Zika virus frequently occur in tropical countries. These viruses are transmitted by mosquito. Panyananthaphikkhu Chonprathan Medical Center (PCMC) has organized the campaign for disease awareness and prevention of mosquito-borne disease by protecting children and population from mosquito bites.
Engaging volunteers in the community through training, communication activities and messaging in schools have been created as well as designing and conducting environmental control programs. To encourage environmental cleanup in schools and surrounding areas in Moo 1 of Bang Talat area in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi, containers that hold water where mosquitoes lay eggs are all removed from playgrounds and sports fields.
1. Effort to prevent transmission of mosquito-borne viruses and outbreaks makes it best possible by children and community members. There were 3,000 households, people in 15 foster homes, 6 schools, and 2 temples involve in this project. Local authorities, such as Nonthaburi city municipality and PCMC supporting staff, provide education and facilities for the disease prevention.
2. After directing environmental cleanup on site, sources of stagnant water and containers which can hold water were properly disposed of or recycled.
