Caveat

This project com from, Faculty of Nursing, university personnel, and students.Community participants, including chronic psychiatric patients, their caregivers, and local health personnel.Objective:To enhance the skills of fourth-year nursing students in caring for chronic psychiatric patients within the community.To ensure continuous community-based care for chronic psychiatric patients, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 3 (SDG3).
Method:The project was conducted from October 2023 to March 2024.Target group: 192 participants, including:24 Faculty of Nursing personnel106 nursing students 9 chronic psychiatric patients 18 caregivers of the patients 15 local health personnel 20 community leaders Results: For Nursing Students: 100% of the students met the evaluation criteria. For Chronic Psychiatric Patients:100% received continuous care within the community, exceeding the target of 80%. Outcome: Cost-effectiveness and efficiency were assessed based on the number of participants (192) and the project budget (139,900 THB). The project achieved its objectives by providing hands-on experience for nursing students and continuous care for patients.
Recommendations for future improvements include extending the project into a long-term research initiative to reduce hospital readmissions for psychiatric patients.
